The goal of incarceration shouldn't just be punishment — it should be preparing people to come home and stay home. Reive's initiative would create opportunities for incarcerated individuals to take on virtual jobs — real, skills-based work they can do from within the facility — and earn real wages deposited into a personal account.

When they walk out the door, they walk out with money in their pocket, job experience on their résumé, and a real shot at building a life. No more being dropped on the street with nothing, but instead rewarding people for choosing to contribute back to society.

To help offset the cost to taxpayers, participants would contribute a small portion of their earnings — either $10 or 10% per day, whichever is greater — back to the facility or directly toward restitution for their victims.
